Penile Prosthetic Implantation: Dr. Antonini Hosts Leading Arab Experts in Rome

Dr. Gabriele Antonini, an international authority in functional urology and penile prosthetic implantation, hosted a significant surgical training course dedicated to the three-component hydraulic penile prosthesis in Rome – at the Clinica Quisisana.

Exceptional guests of the course included:

• Prof. Mohamd Moussa, President of the Arab Society of Urology and a leading urologist in Lebanon;

• Dr. Erfai Emtair, a Libyan urologist currently practicing in Bahrain;

• And Dr. Oday Shawahneh, a Jordanian urologist active in Dubai.

During the training day, eight hydraulic penile prosthetic implantation procedures were performed, utilizing an infrapubic approach. The cases addressed included complex revisions for mechanical malfunctions, replacements, and primary implants in patients presenting with challenging anatomical situations. Dr. Antonini once again demonstrated the excellence of his surgical technique, solidifying his international reputation as one of the most experienced and innovative surgeons within the field of functional urologic surgery. Professor Mohamad Moussa, impressed by the organization and the high scientific standard of the course, has officially invited Dr. Antonini to speak as a lecturer at the next congress of the Arab Society of Urology, which is scheduled to take place in Muscat, Oman, in November 2025.
